Booking Policy

Last Updated: 17 September 2026

This Booking Policy explains the process and conditions applicable when booking flights, accommodation, holiday packages and other travel services through Tasmanian Tours and Travel.

1. Making a Booking

Customers may request a booking through our website, telephone, email or other communication channels offered by Tasmanian Tours and Travel.

Before a booking is confirmed, we may provide a quotation based on the information supplied by the customer.

A quotation is subject to availability and may change until the booking is confirmed.

2. Customer Information

Customers must provide accurate information required to make the booking.

For flights, this may include the passenger's name exactly as shown on their passport or other travel document.

Customers are responsible for checking all details before confirming their booking.

3. Quotation

A quotation may include:

  • travel dates;
  • flight details;
  • airline;
  • baggage allowance;
  • accommodation;
  • package inclusions;
  • taxes and charges;
  • applicable service fees; and
  • total price.

The quotation will identify material conditions where reasonably practicable.

Prices may change before confirmation because airline, hotel and supplier availability can change.

4. Booking Confirmation

A booking becomes confirmed when:

  1. the required payment has been received or another payment arrangement has been agreed; and
  2. the relevant supplier has accepted and confirmed the booking.

A payment receipt alone does not necessarily mean that a supplier has confirmed the requested travel service.

Customers should wait for written booking confirmation and/or ticketing documentation.

5. Payment

Payment requirements depend on the travel product.

We may require:

  • full payment;
  • a deposit;
  • payment by a specified deadline; or
  • another agreed payment arrangement.

If payment is not received by the required deadline, the booking may be cancelled or the quoted price may no longer be available, subject to applicable law.

6. Payment Security

Customers should only make payments using payment instructions supplied through our authorised business channels.

If you receive unexpected changes to payment details, please contact us using our official contact information before transferring funds.

Never rely solely on a payment instruction received from an unknown third party.

7. Ticketing

After payment and supplier confirmation, airline tickets or other booking documents may be issued.

Customers should carefully check all documents immediately after receiving them.

Any error should be reported to us as soon as possible.

8. Passenger Names

Passenger names must be supplied accurately.

Airlines may impose restrictions or charges for name corrections or changes.

Any correction request will be subject to the applicable airline's rules.

9. Travel Documents

Customers are responsible for having valid travel documents, including passports, visas and other documentation required for their journey.

We may provide general assistance but cannot guarantee entry into any country.

10. Baggage

Baggage allowances depend on the airline, fare type, route and ticket conditions.

Customers should check their confirmed booking documentation for the applicable allowance.

Additional baggage may incur charges.

11. Special Requests

Customers may request services such as:

  • special meals;
  • wheelchair assistance;
  • seating preferences;
  • child or infant services; or
  • other special assistance.

Requests are subject to supplier availability and confirmation.

A request does not guarantee that the supplier will provide the requested service.

12. Changes After Confirmation

Changes requested after confirmation may result in:

  • fare differences;
  • supplier fees;
  • airline fees;
  • hotel fees;
  • cancellation charges;
  • administration fees; or
  • other applicable charges.

We will advise you of known charges before processing the change where reasonably practicable.

13. Cancellation

Cancellation is governed by the applicable Refund & Cancellation Policy and the conditions of the relevant supplier.

Some bookings may be non-refundable.

Customers should contact us before taking action that may affect their booking.

14. Supplier Terms

Your booking may also be subject to the terms and conditions of the airline, hotel, tour operator or other supplier providing the travel service.

Where supplier conditions apply, they form part of the booking arrangements.

15. Flight Disruptions

Airlines may change or cancel flights.

If this happens, Tasmanian Tours and Travel will provide reasonable assistance in accordance with the applicable supplier conditions and Australian law.

Available remedies may include rebooking, an alternative service or a refund depending on the circumstances.

16. Customer Responsibility Before Travel

Customers should check their itinerary before travelling and allow sufficient time for:

  • airport check-in;
  • security screening;
  • immigration;
  • baggage collection;
  • connecting flights; and
  • other airport procedures.

Customers should also monitor communications from the airline and other suppliers.

17. No-Show

Failure to attend a scheduled flight, hotel stay, tour or other travel service may be treated as a no-show.

Supplier no-show conditions may apply and can result in cancellation of remaining services.

18. Travel Insurance

We recommend considering suitable travel insurance before travelling.

Insurance terms, exclusions and coverage are determined by the insurer.

Customers should read the policy carefully before purchasing.

19. Consumer Rights

Nothing in this Booking Policy removes or limits rights that cannot legally be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law.

Our services come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law.

Where applicable, consumers may have rights to remedies including cancellation, refund, replacement services, rectification or compensation depending on the circumstances.

20. Complaints

If you have a concern regarding your booking, please contact us as soon as possible.

We will investigate the matter and work with the relevant supplier where necessary.
